QSpot LGBT Community Center, one of NJ’s largest safe spaces, is offering internships to students interested in gaining valuable professional experience in a supportive and welcoming environment. If you’re interested in learning and developing skills in a wide variety of fields including business administrative, social services, media (traditional, social, web), public policy, communications, advocacy, development and events planning, please contact [email protected]. All majors are encouraged to apply. Hours are flexible.
ABOUT QSPOT – QSpot LGBT Community Center’s mission is to foster the health, well-being and pride of NJ’s LGBT community by providing resources, referrals, public education, outreach and general support to live their lives with dignity and freedom. QSpot works tirelessly to fulfill its mission while operating as a 501(c) tax exempt non-profit organization in Ocean Grove, NJ. QSpot is the only community center serving the needs of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community of Mercer, Monmouth, and Ocean counties, an area with an estimated population of 2 million, including the diverse cities of Princeton, Asbury Park and Ocean Grove. QSpot provides vital services to this under-served community including education, advocacy and support for LGBT youth, seniors, parents and families, mental health counseling, HIV support groups, 12-step recovery groups, job resource center, book club, and a women’s discussion group, among others. QSpot is also a meeting place for other LGBT organizations such as GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network) Central Jersey, Garden State Equality, New Jersey Pride and individuals looking for a welcoming place to hold important personal events.
